The passing of an era
Hi all,
It has been a while since I have posted. Since that time, the family has celebrated the life of my grandmother who was at least 104 years old. There are only two sad facts surrounding her death. First, we are not sure how old she is since the records of her birth were not well kept. Secondly, she will be missed, even though she was old, her death was unexpected at this time. She had been released from the hospital and simply went away in her sleep.
I can’t fathom 104 years old but just think of what she witnessed in her lifetime. She lived a modest life living off the land and raising 10 kids. She had a hand in rearing a host of niece, nephews, and even a few of her sisters as well. Technology from the car, the television, the airplane, the internet, space travel, satellites, and list goes on have exploded on the scene with her giving witness to each advent.
She was as graceful as they come and would endear you to her with that smile and look that says you better be good or I am going to get you even if you and I both know I am too old to get you. She took out time to teach me the Lord’s prayer. She also encouraged me to read the bible. In short she was a lovely lady. You knew from the life she displayed that she had to be a very obedient child growing old with virtues abounding within her. The world did not know her, but in my world she loomed large. I am glad God gave me the opportunity to have her as my grandma. If you still have yours with you, take the time to appreciate what she represents and give her a hug and a kiss. You never know how long you have with one another.

Elections have consequences and to the victor goes the spoils. Do many of you consider it better to preach abstinence or should children be taught to use condoms. For a father, what do you do when your teenage daughter wants to discuss condoms and their usage? After picking yourself off of the floor what do you do? Is it easier when your son asks or does it matter? I don’t know if it gets any easier as the kids increase. Talk to me tell me which do you prefer abstinence or condoms.
In this economy, even sex doesn’t sell
Has it gotten that hard where the oldest profession isn’t cutting it?
Folks, this is truly a sad economy. I am not a proponent of prostitution but have you ever seen such a thing.
Cancer and Cell Phones: Connection?
Some scientist believe there is a connection between brain cancer and cell phones. Brain Cancer and your Cell Phone. Now this has been postulated before but not proven. It takes years to build a consensus in the scientific community but in the mean time the potential damage escalates. Since some scientist believe this is the case, what precautions should they be making right now that could minimize the exposure? See by the time there is proof positive how many people would have their lives negatively affected. The cost to the phone companies to make changes is probably cost prohibitive in their minds and until forced they will probably allow you to absorb the risk.

Global Warming? Coolest Temp in 5 years
According to an article the world is experiencing its coolest temperatures in 5 years. If this is true where are the cataclysmic events known as global warming?

Are there normal cycles of cooling and warming that cause the warming that we experience when we experience it. Not enough is known to predetermine the weather 3 months from now much less 20 years from now. Science is still learning the weather. Ask your local weatherman what the weather is going to be like in 15 days and see what he/she says. The deer in the headlights look comes to mind.

Obama says Abortion question above his pay grade
Barack Obama was put on the spot today to address a number of issues facing a President. He jokingly responded to the question concerning abortion that it was above his pay grade.
He will be drilled on questions such as these and he will not be able to dodge the questions forever. Where do you stand on the issue? Should he be able to answer the question?
Is hair loss a thing of the past?
A new black owned company has a product that naturally treats hair loss.
Now after reading the article, my conclusion is that it will not help the fella who has lost his hair. I may be wrong, but I will let you know if it works. But again there is nothing wrong with the bald club.
